Step into a joyful half-day creative retreat designed to help you explore, experiment, and fall in love with art—no experience required! A Brush with Art is a sampler-style art experience where you’ll enjoy a variety of approachable, hands-on activities in a relaxed and welcoming studio setting.

Throughout the day, you’ll dabble in watercolor painting, acrylic painting, and other fun, easy art activities, giving you the chance to try several creative mediums without pressure—just playful discovery. This experience is perfect for beginners, the creativity-curious, or anyone who wants a refreshing, inspiring day immersed in art. All experience levels are warmly welcome!

During this lively two-hour class, you’ll explore the bold beauty of alcohol inks—a highly pigmented, fluid medium that creates luminous blends, organic movement, and stunning abstract effects. Whether you’re brand new to art or a seasoned creative spirit, alcohol inks are easy to learn, wildly fun to use, and full of unlimited possibilities. Have you ever wished you could draw what you see in nature—but weren’t sure where to start? This welcoming and educational class is the perfect place to begin.

Join us for Drawing Nature, a fun and skill-building class designed to help you strengthen your drawing abilities while observing the beauty of the natural world. In this session, we’ll explore basic drawing techniques, observational skills, and simple methods for translating natural subjects onto paper.

Artist Dawn Duncan, owner of Yellowbright Creative, will guide participants through approachable exercises that help train the eye and hand to work together. You’ll learn techniques that can improve sketching, painting, and overall artistic expression. Drawing is the foundation of so many art forms, and building these skills can make a powerful difference in your creative journey.

Celebrate the beauty of creativity and connection just in time for Mother's Day! Join us for Mom and Me: Watercolor Blooms, a joyful and heartwarming art experience hosted by Yellowbright Creative at the Perham Center for the Arts. 

In this special class, mothers and kids will spend a delightful morning creating together while exploring the beauty of water painting. Each pair will begin by selecting fresh flowers, cutting and arranging their own custom bouquet in a vase provided for the class. This beautiful arrangement will become the inspiration and the subject for your watercolor painting--and the bouquet goes home with you afterward!

Artist Dawn Duncan, owner of Yellowbright Creative, will guide participants through basic watercolor techniques, tips on supplies, and hands-on instruction as you transform your floral arrangement into a vibrant painting. This class is designed to be fun, relaxed, and encouraging, making it perfect for beginners as well as those who have some experience with watercolor.

Spend quality time together, celebrate creativity, and make something beautiful side by side. It's the perfect way to honor moms and create lasting memories right before Mother's Day.
